Pepita Torbrand
I am the Director of Bounce-Coaching, a company offering psychological coaching to teenagers, adults, and parents - focusing specifically on increasing authentic confidence, utilising our awareness of our unique gifts and abilities to help us optimise both performance and wellbeing.
My evidence-based practice takes an integrative approach and helps clients utilise their unique strengths to build an enhanced awareness of and relationship with the self. It is based on the pillars of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Psychology, the Humanistic (Person Centred) and Cognitive Behavioural approaches, and focuses on the importance of mindset, and perceptions.
I have published academic research in the International Coaching Psychology Review, in the areas of psychological coaching/performance coaching with teenagers. I also created and led the whole school cognitive behavioural coaching project at Oxford High School for Girls for many years. In my academic research, I have documented evidence of the many positive effects of coaching young adults.
I am an experienced ACT practitioner, working with depression, anxiety, people pleasing and unhelpful perfectionism. I am also trained in Stress Management and Reiki.
When working with teenagers, my specialisms include social media, self-image, anxiety, performance anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, fear of failure, SEND, ADHD, RSD, friendships, exclusion, procrastination and self-sabotaging, confidence, wellbeing and motivation.
When working with parents, my specialisms are strengths mapping and creating effective ways of dealing with high pressure situations by promoting positive and authentic communication. Each coaching conversation is tailored to suit different needs and requirements and to help the whole family move in a ‘toward’ direction with self-compassion. Towards the parent we want to be and the communication we want to have; making space to acknowledge our values and our signature strengths.
When working with adults, some of my key specialisms are anxiety, relationship with self, people pleasing, self-doubt, lack of motivation, masking, procrastination, stress and sadness, self- sabotaging, impostor syndrome, confidence, relationship, exercise, developing positive habits, self- compassion, resilience, strengths mapping and values work.
