Louise Jones
I specialise in helping people who have experienced, trauma or abuse, work through solutions to enable them to return to the life they once had.
Often this will be finding themselves for the first time. Trauma and PTSD can affect anyone that has experienced a potentially life-threatening event, or a serious injury, or witnessed one or heard about an event that has happened to a close friend or family member. Your symptoms may include some or all but not be limited to, upsetting thoughts, nightmares, flashbacks, avoiding people, places or situations, irritability, anxiety, jumpy, panic attacks and more.
I offer a 3 phased approach, symptom management using a variety of techniques such as Rewind, processing trauma, and reassessing life going forward. I use processes that have been proven to work and are recommended by NICE. These include Prolonged exposure, trauma-focused CBT, Cognitive processing therapy, Image rescripting and Narrative exposure therapy. I integrate Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting as part of trauma processing.
The first step towards recovery can be the hardest. Reaching out for help can be a very big and scary step to take. Revealing your innermost feelings can be very anxiety provoking. I can offer a safe space where you can talk directly about your experiences.
